Adam Mills dealt with the worse problem of FSX textures – desert-like terrain covering large parts of Europe and USA. I have no idea what went through the minds of Flight Simulator X developers when they decided that sandy-yellow ground textures are appropriate in Poland, Germany, France or in the northern states of the U.S. Ground Environment X brings all-new ground textures to FSX, and it boasts an incredible 1 m/pixel texture resolution, using native 1024x1024 pixel images, and includes all seasons, meticulously designed night textures and the latest techniques in autogen placement and alignment.

Fs2004 Ground Textures

• Add the 1024x1024 texture to ADE using GP Management tool, and place it over your 1500'x1500' ground polygon and use the editing tool to orient it correctly. Then, just add markings using the GP line tool at a higher layer level. Taxiways are similar, except I placed three 500' parallel segments in a 1024x1024 texture as shown below.
• Ground Environment X (GEX) is a general texture and 'autogen layout' replacement package for Flight Simulator X. GEX replaces the default Flight Simulator X urban, rural, desert, tundra, and mountain terrain textures with greatly improved and detailed 1024x1024 resolution texture sets which include a complete set of matching night lighting maps.

All these scenery releases are freeware and are available from most major sites. Note that these sceneries have been designed to work best with the FTX AU ground textures. HOW TO ADD SCENERY TO THE FSX LIBRARY There is a bit of a trick to adding scenery to the FSX.
